Comment This has been an incredible year for the Ley Community. Steve Walker our Programme Director has been recognised for his thirty years contribution to the field of addiction both locally and Nationally. He was awarded the Oxfordshire High Sheriff award and a National Champion Award for his contribution to the Therapeutic Community presented by Professor George De Leon at the European Federation Therapeutic Communities Conference in September. Steve has also written a book about his pathway to recovery called Steve Unwanted. How a Bad Boy Came Good. An Inspiring True Story. Published by Short Brooks. His book is giving hope to many individuals and families struggling with addiction. If you would like a signed copy get in touch. We won a Lifetime Achievement Award for saving lives and restoring families effected by addiction. We are receiving referrals from new areas across the UK and have more women in the programme than ever before. In September we celebrated our 40th Anniversary and Graduation event; attended by over 300 people. We welcomed Ley Graduates spanning 40 years, including our first Graduate from 1971 who flew over form Australia. Each story was powerful and emotional but most of all it was positively uplifting and gave hope to current residents. So finally, a huge thank you all friends, families, advocates, commissioners and of course to those of you who are living your dream, clean and sober having learnt the 'tools' from the Ley Community. We wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

Comment My life how things change! Im currently working in Australia with a Web Development firm, wont go into the job too much cos lets face it, to appreciate you would have to be as big a geek as I am! Anyway Australia is fantastic, though people are complaining that its a 'cold' summer at 23-28 degrees... Miss my family soooo much and Im here for Xmas and new year... New Year in Sydney!! omg! Ive been here so far for a month, and will be here for another 2 months and well, the works good, my flat is 100m from Dee Why beach and life atm is pretty cool! As always, this really is down to the work I put in at LC, if it wasnt for them trying so hard with an idiot who just didnt understand... well Its likely I would NOT be in Australia but Woodhill... hehehe Have a Happy Christmas and an Amazing new year, keep up the good work LC, it doesnt take much to rethink your life, but its hard work to do it, though it is SOOOO worth it! as always Palmer House Rocks!!!
