During this stage individuals are developing
an understanding of patterns of behaviour and their
relevant consequences in relation to themselves, family and society. A cognitive
model is used to promote appropriate coping strategies enabling change.

The developed group dynamic is used in this
stage to explore in depth issues around relationships.
This enables individuals to identify the effect they have on their relationships
and how particular
relationships have impacted on them and to start to create a positive support
network for the future.

The final part of this phase gives each individual
time to explore their personal history and develop a
SMART action plan, in consultation with peers, addressing relapse prevention
and helping them to
'move on'.

During this period participants consolidate
and further their learning whilst taking on additional responsibilities
for the community. By putting into practice the skills they have
learned they act as role
models for new members while having the opportunity to focus on their own resettlement
issues.
Individuals attend an open group and structured group each week plus other activities.
